When it comes to working life, far too many people feel perhaps less satisfied than they really should. After all, the working world is an incredibly vast one indeed – and with this many people feeling less than happy with their overall working life, this is very much a problem to be reckoned with. And job retention rates are showing that this problems is a very serious one indeed, something that many HR executive search consultants will also likely be readily able to attest to, to say the very least.
The data on the subject more than supports this claim, as this data shows that more than half of all Millennials would actually willingly leave their job at the moment that they are offered a better one. In addition to this, the June of 2015 alone saw more than two and a half million people leaving their jobs voluntarily, a number that has likely only grown in the time that has followed us since. So it should really come as no surprise that Millennials have frequently become known as the Job Hopping generation.
But there are many reasons that such Millennials are leaving their jobs, something that HR executive search consultants will readily attest to. For one thing, HR executive search consultants and other major executives have stated that a poor skills match can be the top reason for a failed hire, with more than one third of such professionals stating this to be the case. It makes sense after all, that not having an intensive enough hiring process could all too easily lead to the hiring of someone who is not particularly ideal for the job. And when the wrong person ends up getting hired for any given role, it is most certainly far too likely that they will end up struggling in this role – and perhaps even ultimately seeking employment elsewhere.
Unclear performance objectives can also lead to a lack of employee retention, with up to 30% of all executives and HR executive search consultants feeling that this is also a leading cause behind the issue with job retention. After all, other data backs up this claim, as it shows that more than three quarters of all workers in this country (around 80% of them, to be just a little bit more exact) do not feel like they are being thoroughly motivated by their superiors. And without this support, it is likely to be next to impossible to fully understand what is being asked of you at your place of work.
Fortunately, better training employees can have a tremendous impact on overall employee success. Not only will training employees very much allow them to be better equipped for the job that is ahead of them, but providing more training for your employees will also, as you might have already guessed, allow you to improve the chances that the employees in question will stick around for the long haul. As a matter of fact, employees who go through a more thorough on boarding process are actually more likely to stick around for more than a year, as HR executive search consultants are likely to be well aware of.
And this is not the only way to make employees feel more supported than ever before, though it is more certainly an important first step. In addition to this, it is important to institute some type of an employee recognition program. After all, such employee recognition programs have been found to be quite largely successful indeed, with research gathered on the subject showing that as many as 86% of all companies have found success with putting such a program into place. After all, the bump in employee happiness that such a program can produce is hugely ideal, as it can lead to a bump in everything from overall productivity to overall work performance as a whole.
At the end of the day, there are many different factors that can quite heavily influence the length of time that any given employee stays with any one company. After all, there are many things to take into account, from how well and thoroughly any given employee is trained to how much the employee in question feels supported.
