Javascript : Advantage as Scripting language

Javascript : Advantages as Scripting languages short overview

JavaScript gives HTML designers a programming platform- HTML authors are normally not programmers, but JavaScript is a scripting language with a very simple syntax.

JavaScript can inserted as dynamic text into an HTML page – A JavaScript statement like this: document.write(“<h1>” + name + “</h1>”) can write a variable text into an HTML page.
-JavaScript can respond to Events – A JavaScript can be set to execute when something happens, like when a page has finished loading or when a user clicks on an HTML element.

-JavaScript can read and write HTML elements – A JavaScript can read and change the content of an HTML element.

-JavaScript can be used to validate data – A JavaScript can be used to validate form data before it is submitted to a server. This saves the server from extra processing .
-JavaScript can be used to detect the visitor’s browser – A JavaScript can be used to detect the visitor’s browser, and depending on the browser – load another page specifically designed for that browser .
-JavaScript can be used to create cookies – A JavaScript can be used to store and retrieve information on the visitor’s computer

Javascript : Introduction and Overview

Java script is scripting language designed by Netscape to enable Website gurus to design interactive sites..
JavaScript was originally developed by Brendan Eich of Netscape under the name Mocha, which was later renamed to LiveScript, and finally to JavaScript.

It can enhance the dynamics and interactive features of your page by allowing you to perform calculations, check forms, write interactive games, add special effects, customize graphics selections, create security passwords and more.

You can even use it with CSS to make DHTML (Dynamic HyperText Markup Language). This allows you to make parts of your web pages appear or disappear or move around on the page. JavaScripts only execute on the page(s) that are on your browser window at any set time. When the user stops viewing that page, any scripts that were running on it are immediately stopped.

The only exception is a cookie, which can be used by many pages to pass information between them, even after the pages have been closed.

One of the difference between javascript and Java Programming language is JavaScript is a client side, interpreted, object oriented, high level scripting language, while Java is a client side, compiled, object oriented high level language.
Some of the features related to JavaScript are give below

-JavaScript was designed to add interactivity to HTML pages.
-JavaScript is a scripting language .
-A scripting language is a lightweight programming language.

-JavaScript is usually embedded directly into HTML pages.
-JavaScript is an interpreted language (means that scripts execute without preliminary compilation)
Everyone can use JavaScript without purchasing a license
